Reservation for SC/ST and OBC in Govt Jobs States for Central Govt Jobs

The percentage of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs in States for Central Govt Jobs in case of direct recruitment to Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ posts normally attracting candidates from a locality or a region is provided here.

Except in Delhi, reservation for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in case of direct recruitment to Group C and Group D posts normally attracting candidates from a locality or a region is generally fixed on the basis of proportion of their population in the respective States/UTs.

Reservation for Other Backward Classes in such cases is fixed keeping in view the proportion of their population in the respective States/UTs subject to a limit of 27% and total reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs should not exceed 50%. Quantum of reservation fixed for SCs, STs and OBCs in such cases is indicated below

India Post Banks Begin From April 2018

India Posts bank to have nationwide operations by April

NEW DELHI: India Posts Payments Bank services are expected to be available across the country by April, Communications Minister Manoj Sinha today said.

“(India Posts) Payments Bank branches will be opened across 650 districts by around April. All these branches will be linked to rural post offices. This will be largest banking network in the country,” Sinha said on the sidelines of the launch of Deen Dayal SPARSH scholarship scheme.
The IPPB branches are operational in Raipur and Ranchi. It will use post offices for its operations. There are 1.55 lakh post offices in the country.

In the private space, Airtel Payments Bank, launched in January this year, started operations with a network of 2.5 lakh merchants. Chinese internet firm Alibaba controlled Paytm also started payments bank operations this year.

Payments banks can accept deposits of up to Rs 1 lakh per account from individuals and small businesses.

The new model of banking allows mobile firms, supermarket chains and others to cater to banking requirements of individuals and small businesses.

Payments banks are set up as differentiated banks and will confine to accepting demand deposits, remittance services, Internet banking and other specified services.

IPPB offers an interest rate of 4.5 per cent on deposits up to Rs 25,000; 5 per cent on Rs 25,000-50,000 and 5.5 per cent on Rs 50,000-1,00,000.

EPFO Organized National Seminar on “Fraud Risk Management – The New Initiatives”

As a part of “Vigilance Awareness Week – 2017” organized nationwide to promote transparency and probity in public governance, EPFO organized a national seminar on “Fraud Risk Management – The New Initiatives” at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi today. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. T.M. Bhasin, Vigilance Commissioner, CVC. Dr. V.P. Joy, Central P.F. Commissioner presided over the function.

Setting the tone of the seminar, Shri Bhasin appreciated the efforts of EPFO in embracing technology for improving transparency in citizen-government interface. He congratulated EPFO in adding value to Ease of Doing Business in the country that helped India jump 30 points to come in the prestigious group of 100 countries in ease of doing business. He stressed the need for further systemic improvements for mitigation and prevention of occurrence of frauds.

Dr. V.P. Joy, CPFC highlighted the recent digital initiatives undertaken in EPFO for ensuring transition from the erstwhile manual system of claim settlement to online claim submission and payment system that has freed employers from mandatory cumbersome paperwork and has given much needed relief to employees in getting their claims settled promptly in a very transparent manner. He further added that EPFO is set to become an electronic paper free organization by 15th August 2018 which would certainly herald a new and dynamic phase of business and service delivery proficiency.

Shri Nilimesh Baruah, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax and former Director, SFIO spoke about the early warning system for identification and detection of corporate frauds and gave the details of the structure and mode of operations of the shell companies in managing unaccounted cash and importance of creating proper database for fraud detection.

A documentary film on EPFO highlighting its initiatives and achievements was also screened in the seminar.
